Rangers have started their post-split fixtures with back-to-back defeats against Motherwell and Hearts, meaning that it’s almost impossible now for them to win the Scottish Premiership title.

Despite going ahead through Dujon Sterling at Tynecastle on Monday, goals by Stephen Kingsley and Lawrence Shankland won Derek McInnes‘ men all three points to put them seven points ahead of third-placed Rangers with three games left.

Up next for Rangers is a trip to Celtic to play Martin O’Neill’s side, who are currently second in the standings, three points behind Hearts.

A victory for the Gers would seriously dent Celtic’s title aspirations, so there is at least something to play for beyond just bragging rights.

Gers Intel: Back-to-back defeats against Motherwell and Hearts have put massive pressure on the squad. All eyes now turn to a season-defining Old Firm derby at Parkhead followed by a quick turnaround at home to Hibs.
