Rangers predicted XI vs Falkirk – Danny Rohl turns to Ryan Naderi as serious issue addressed

Rangers are at least looking to end the season with a win on Saturday when they travel to Falkirk.

It has been a dire few weeks for the Gers, whose title hopes were ended for good last Sunday with defeat to Celtic.

That made it three losses in a row, following defeats by Motherwell and Hearts.

Soon after, three became four as Hibernian secured a 2-1 win at Ibrox on Wednesday.

Now, with only the trip to Falkirk remaining, Danny Rohl’s side are searching for some semblance of positivity heading into next term, with the risk of losing all five post-split matches still hanging over them.

Danny Rohl left with big decisions ahead of Falkirk clash

The simple fact is Rangers have not performed in the final third since returning to action at the end of April.

After a sensational run heading into the split, Rohl’s side have buckled, even though they were the ones chasing league leaders Hearts rather than carrying the pressure themselves.

The Gers won 6-3 at Falkirk before the short pause last month, giving them hopes of lifting the title against the same opponent on Saturday.

Now left with nothing to play for, Rohl could switch things up in the final third with that an area of serious concern.

Ryan Naderi has continued to recover from his injury suffered against Dundee United at the start of April, but has been back training in recent weeks and got some minutes against Hearts.

With no stakes on the line, now may be the perfect time to hand him an opportunity from the start, potentially showing what Rangers have been missing as of late. He would come in for Mohamed Diomande.

Andreas Skov Olsen comes in for the once again ineffective Oliver Antman, with the option of Djeidi Gassama not pulling up any trees either, thanks to the issues down the right-hand-side that have plagued Rangers all year.

Thelo Aasgaard was fantastic in a deeper role against Hibs, meaning that he could start there once again.

Though arguably the biggest decision of his Ibrox career to date, Rohl could opt to stick with Dujon Sterling at right-back, with James Tavernier’s swansong coming to a bitter end on Wednesday.

Falkirk trip will not pan out as imagined

When Rangers thumped Falkirk on the road back in April, the plan was to make that exact same trip this month and lift the title.

However, the Govan outfit have not even mounted a challenge.

Instead, the goal is now to avoid losing five matches in a row, something that would be an absolute catastrophe for Rangers, bringing Rohl’s future further into doubt.

If any of the current squad have ideas about staying next season, Saturday is the day to prove it.

Though that has been said for a number of weeks now, and the recent run hardly instils confidence ahead of the season’s closure.
