Rangers’ best players of 2025-26 – what the statistics say as surprise name included

Rangers ended their season on a high on a relative high on Saturday, beating Falkirk 5-2 away from home.

However, the day itself was not what had been imagined just over a month earlier, with the Gers entering the split firmly in the title picture.

Since then, Danny Rohl’s side suffered four straight defeats, including damaging losses to both Hearts and Celtic during that run.

With their title hopes ended with matches to spare, Rangers had little left to play for as they made the trip to Falkirk.

Now, with the season done and dusted, Ibrox News takes a look at the data to pick out the club’s best performers this season in terms of the statistics.

Nico Raskin tops charts as Rangers’ best performer

Recently making the Belgium squad ahead of the World Cup, Nico Raskin has been rewarded for another fine season at Ibrox.

According to Sofascore data, the midfielder has been the best-performing Rangers player this year, with an average rating of 7.47.

Raskin in SPFL this season

In the Scottish Premiership this term, Raskin found the back of the net six times, while he laid on seven assists.

Joining the club from Standard Liege in 2023, the 25-year-old has continued to grow at Ibrox, and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet when fit.

As Rohl and Rangers look to mount a serious title challenge next term, keeping hold of Raskin and building around him will be key.

James Tavernier a surprise inclusion among best Rangers players

Looking at the rest of the Sofascore data, Rangers supporters may be surprised at multiple names on the list.

Coming up in second place is captain James Tavernier, with an average rating of 7.26, while John Souttar also matches this.

It has not been the best season for the skipper, but his contribution in the final third continues to place him high when it comes to the numbers.

With eight league goals and four league assists, Tavernier has more than played his part going forward for Rangers again, and will move on with best wishes from the fans at Ibrox.

Souttar in third has only made 23 league starts, with Rohl often rotating at the back.

However, his data remains impressive when he does get that chance, with an average rating of 7.26 – placing him third in the list of performers for Rangers.

Souttar in particular played his part in five clean sheets, with this being something that the Govan side will need to fix if they are to challenge for the title next term.

Emmanuel Fernandez (7.14) and Youssef Chermiti (7.06) round off the top five in terms of Rangers’ best performers statistically speaking.
