Rangers unseen moments vs Falkirk: Andrew Cavenagh chats with fans, Gassama’s pointed message
Rangers concluded their Scottish Premiership campaign with a 5-2 win away at Falkirk on Saturday lunchtime.
Youssef Chermiti had the Gers two goals up inside six minutes at Falkirk Stadium, but a horror moment from Jack Butland gave the hosts an instant route back into the contest.
Djeidi Gassama restored that two-goal advantage before Calvin Miller converted a contentious penalty to make it 3-2 at the interval, but Chermiti’s hat-trick goal and a Thelo Aasgaard penalty ensured a routine win.
Rangers entered the game knowing they could finish no higher or lower than third place, but the win does at least halt a four-game losing run for Danny Rohl‘s side.

Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe reach out to fans
Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe will not need telling that what has happened this season has been unacceptable.
What was supposed to be an exciting first season for the pair at Ibrox has been anything but. Cavenagh and Marathe, to their credit, have not shyed away from the issues.
| Falkirk | Rangers | |
| 2 | Goals | 5 |
| 2.26 | Expected goals | 2.67 |
| 8 | Shots | 15 |
| 3 | Shots on target | 7 |
| 55% | Possession | 45% |
And the pair were again in attendance at Falkirk Stadium on Saturday, pictured along with chief executive Jim Gillespie.
As pointed out by Daily Record journalist Andy Newport via X, all three Rangers figures could be seen chatting with the visiting fans at half-time.
Exactly what words were exchanged is unknown, but the gesture likely would have gone down well with those in attendance as they front up to the issues.
Djeidi Gassama’s celebration was telling
Gassama looked very lively in the first half in particular, with his strike brilliantly taken.
He turned his man inside the box and thumped the ball home to make it three goals for the season to go with his five assists.
And it was pretty telling that Gassama marked the occasion by replicating James Tavernier’s golf swing celebration.

Tavernier was brutally snubbed by Rohl for his Ibrox farewell, but he is a hugely popular member of the dressing room and Gassama showed his support in his own way.
Rangers fans bid farewell to Mikey Moore
Mikey Moore may not have added to his goals tally, but he can be more than happy with his contribution on loan from Tottenham Hotspur this season.
The teenager is a serious talent and it is likely he will now be part of Spurs’ squad next season, regardless of what league they are in.
Rangers fans got a chance to say a likely farewell to Moore when he was substituted late on against Falkirk.
Moore had a superb reception as he made way, with Rangers fans heard chanting “one more year” from the away section.
That seems unlikely, but Rangers really should be doing all they can to do exactly that.
