Philippe Clement wants to sign Emmanuel Dennis for Rangers, player ‘on his way’ to Scotland
Philippe Clement wants to bring Emmanuel Dennis to Rangers this month to bolster his forward options, according to Nieuwsblad Belgium.
Writing in their transfer live blog (3 January, 19:56), the news outlet report that the Nigeria international is “on his way” to the Ibrox club and “seems to be moving to Scotland in the winter”.
Clement previously worked with Dennis during their time together at Club Brugge, but a deal doesn’t look straightforward. The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Fenerbahce from Nottingham Forest, so both clubs would need to agree to an early termination for this to take place.

“Philippe Clement wants to bring in an old acquaintance after Fabio Silva (ex-Anderlecht) to strengthen his front line,” they wrote.
“Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis is on his way to the Scottish top club. Clement still had the now 26-year-old Nigerian under his wing at Club Brugge.
“He is currently on loan from Nottingham Forrest to Basaksehir in Turkey, but he is not a permanent fixture there and so he seems to be moving to Scotland in the winter.”
Bolt from the blue
Rangers haven’t had many problems scoring goals this season, but they definitely should have more goals to their name at the same time.
Danilo is out for the next few months, Sam Lammers seemingly has no future, Kemar Roofe is always injured and Cyriel Dessers is totally unreliable in front of goal. That means new additions are necessary.

Fabio Silva has already joined the club but he is young and may see his form blow hot and cold, but Dennis is an international forward who has experience at the highest level and is capable of playing across the front line.
Clement knows him well from their time together, and his performance at Watford which were described as “unreal” by The Express show the type of quality he can add to the squad at Ibrox.
If a deal can be done it would be a shrewd bit of business, but it seems like there is some way to go in this one so don’t hold your breath for an announcement any time soon.
