Rangers star Nicolas Raskin is attracting interest from La Liga side Real Betis.

The midfielder looked for all the world as if he was leaving the Bears in the summer, especially after his World Cup campaign with Belgium.

The Gers received plenty of phone calls for their Belgium international, including interested Premier League clubs.

Derek McInnes' side did have an offer from Turkish giants Besiktas, but it was Raskin who was against the move, turning it down.

The 25-year-old looks back to his best for the Light Blues after scoring in their 2-2 draw against Dundee on Saturday.

However, will Rangers budge their stance on Raskin with Real Betis lurking?

What is Rangers' stance on Nicolas Raskin after Real Betis update?

According to a report from TeamTalk on Wednesday, Champions League side Real Betis are continuing their pursuit of Raskin ahead of the January transfer window.

The potential move to Spain would reportedly appeal to the midfielder, who has an admiration for La Liga.

Raskin rejected a move to Besiktas after initially agreeing to personal terms, purely because he wanted to wait until a club from one of Europe's top five leagues came knocking.

Betis have kept a close eye on the former Standard Liege star ever since he mentally prepared himself to leave Ibrox in the summer, knowing that they can capitalise on his wishes.

However, Rangers continue to hold a strong position in negotiations for Raskin, and have not budged on their financial terms.

Their box-to-box demon is under contract until 2028 and is still valued at the £20million mark.

No bid has come close to the figure demanded, and the 49ers are under no pressure to sell in the January window.

If a £20m bid does come their way though, Andrew Cavenagh and Co. may be happy to sell.

What Belgian sources are now saying about Raskin's future

Selling Raskin midway through the season would most likely cause uproar, especially if the Gers are still in with a strong chance of winning the Scottish Premiership like they currently are.

Even if McInnes' side hold onto their prized asset, sources in Belgium are saying that he will be playing in one of Europe's major leagues by next summer at the very latest.

It looks unlikely that Raskin will sign a new deal with Rangers, which will leave the Bears with no other choice but to cash in next summer, when he will have 12 months left on his contract.
