Keith Hackett reacts to Rangers vs Kilmarnock controversy as Neil McCann hits out
Neil McCann was left fuming after Rangers secured a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday.
It was service resumed for Derek McInnes' side after the extended international break.
Having seen out two Old Firm wins over Celtic previously, the Gers wanted to pick up where they left off.
They did exactly that as Ryan Naderi found the net with just 15 minutes gone.
The Czechia international made that a brace half an hour later after Kevin Kelsy converted past Calum Ferrie.
It was the strike from the Venezuelan that McCann took issue with, but what has he said?
Why was Neil McCann fuming after Rangers vs Kilmarnock?
It has to be said that the Light Blues were pretty deserving of all three points on the day.
They may have had less shots on target, but created more chances on the whole than the away side.
That isn't to say that Kilmarnock didn't create their own problems as various faults helped the Ibrox club go three infront.
The second of the day came from Kelsy in controversial fashion.
The striker fell as the ball came towards him and appeared to handle the ball as he tried to get up.
McCann couldn't quite believe the goal hadn't been ruled out as he discussed the moment in his post-match press conference.
He said: "We gifted Rangers three goals. I've got a real problem with the second one - I think it's a handball."
The irony is, former referee Keith Hackett couldn't agree any less.r
Keith Hackett responds to McCann complaint at Ibrox
The footage does paint a picture that the Venezuelan handled the ball on the ground.
There will be questions of whether it is "clear and obvious" and whether it was a true refereeing error from Matthew MacDermid.
Ex-FIFA official Hackett doesn't believe he did and has also backed the process of VAR.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Hackett said: "This is a tough call for the match officials. After reviewing this incident it is inconclusive that the Rangers player deliberately handled the ball.
"The referee cannot guess and rightly allowed play to continue. VAR did not intervene because they were unable to determine that the referee had made a clear and obvious error.
"It is correct to let the goal stand."
That opinion may not go down well with McCann, but it is ultimately the call that was made by MacDermid and Co.
