Rangers predicted XI vs St Johnstone: Derek McInnes makes two changes as bug goes around Ibrox

Rangers could make a few changes against St Johnstone on Saturday.

Derek McInnes tried something different against Dundee at Dens Park, but it didn't work.

Simo Valakari's team are up next for the Gers, who are unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions.

St Johnstone travel to Ibrox on 24 October, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm - assuming Storm Boelo does not force a postponement.

McInnes has found a winning formula at the Light Blues in recent weeks and could look to return to it.

The Scottish manager has had to deal with a few fitness concerns due to a bug going around the Govan side's squad, but that may not affect his decisions.

Who will drop from Rangers starting lineup vs St Johnstone?

McInnes admitted a few of Rangers' regulars were ill ahead of facing St Johnstone.

However, the Scottish manager admitted he doesn't hope to be forced to make changes because of fitness concerns.

The Gers could make a tactical tweak up front by bringing Kevin Kelsy back into the starting lineup to partner Ryan Naderi.

The Venezuela international may come in for Djeidi Gassama, with the Mauritanian ace struggling for form at the moment, allowing Minsu Kim to feature on the left.

Badredine Bouanani impressed on the right-wing against Dundee, adding creativity to McInnes' side.

Why Derek McInnes could look at defensive rejig at Ibrox

Rangers have lost some defensive stability since returning from the international break.

Fatigue seems to have taken a toll on some of the players.

James Penrice has started in every league game for the Light Blues since signing on loan from AEK Athens, playing the full 90 minutes in most of them.

McInnes revealed that while Tuur Rommens missed the behind-closed-doors friendly against Dundee due to illness, he has been back in training over the last few days.

To bring energy and sharpness to the backline, the Scottish manager could rest Penrice and start the Belgian ace in Govan after his return to the bench in recent matches.

Rangers predicted lineup vs St Johnstone: Pandur; Sterling, Fernandez, Makhanya, Rommens, Neil, Raskin, Bouanani, Kim; Naderi, Kelsy.
