Official Rangers partner reacts to Giovanni van Bronckhorst exclusive Sky Sports interview

Giovanni van Bronckhorst faces a job turning around fan opinion at Rangers as he marks one year in the job, according to official partner Heart & Hand podcast.

The Gers find themselves nine points behind Celtic in the title race and coming off the back of the worst ever Champions League group stage campaign, leading to heavy pressure on the manager to be sacked at Ibrox.

But ahead of an exclusive interview with Sky Sports dropping, official club partner Heart & Hand podcast reacted to a clip on their official Twitter account (18 November) by saying there had been “too many lows” during that time.

“One year – some incredible highs but too many lows,” they wrote. “Faces a job turning round fan opinion.”

This season Rangers have suffered heavy defeats to all of Celtic, Rangers, Napoli and Liverpool as well as recently dropping points against the likes of Livingston, St Johnstone and St Mirren domestically.

Can’t forget

It’s easy to remember only the bad times and ignore the good times, but you could argue that the club are doing the exact opposite by not sacking Van Bronckhorst already.

The Dutch coach brought two cup trophies to the club last season and very nearly the first ever Europa League trophy in our history, only to lose on penalties.

However his transfer business has been bang average at best, while his style of play has been nowhere near good enough and ultimately the club have gone backwards in comparison to Celtic.

We were embarrassed and humiliated repeatedly against the elite sides and shown just how far out of our depth we are, while domestically we have suffered and it’s made life incredibly difficult.

It seems as though the players have given up hope for his methods, and fans have certainly lost faith at this point, so the best option would be to part company so we can remember all the good times rather than let them sour more and more as the bad times continue.
