Rangers' chance to sign Amario Cozier-Duberry may not be dead in the water.

A second £7.5million bid for Cozier-Duberry has been rejected with the Bears looking to boost their options on the wing.

The Brighton winger has been a consistent name this summer when it comes to wide targets for the Gers.

However, whether it is through Rangers not offering enough or the Seagulls unwilling to part ways, they have yet to be able to agree to a deal.

Now, the door could be further opened for that transfer agreement to be striked.

As the Premier League side line up a transfer move that will directly impact Cozier-Duberry's future.

The move Brighton can make to push Amario Cozier-Duberry closer to Rangers

Rangers remain in talks with Brighton over Cozier-Duberry, and they will be looking to reach a compromise.

But while those discussions rumble on, business elsewhere at the AMEX Stadium should be piquing interest.

As it seems the Premier League side are already looking into replacements this summer.

According to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Brighton's interest in Millwall winger Femi Azeez is "linked" to the potential exit of Amario Cozier-Duberry.

For Rangers, that is positive news as it suggests that the Premier League side are actually open to allowing Cozier-Duberry to exit should they have a replacement lined up.

It is not known how much Brighton want for the 21-year-old but the Glasgow club will have the answer to that themselves during talks.

Are Rangers risking a transfer market panic?

So far Rangers' push for wide options has seen them adopt a scattergun approach.

They have been linked to various wide options with multiple bids sent out as they look to add more new signings.

A bid was sent for Fares Ghedjemis previously, but Rangers have now withdrawn from that transfer completely.

Meanwhile, Couhaib Driouech looked almost certain to become a Gers player.

However, concerns over his ability to play immediately came up in his medical, with Rangers pulling the plug on signing Driouech.

Derek McInnes knows what business needs to be done but as the transfer window deadline on 3 September inches closer, the Scottish side risk the chance of panicking each day.

They clearly had a long-list of targets drawn up but have so far failed to bring any of those in.
