How high Rangers have gone as Brighton respond to second Amario Cozier-Duberry bid
Rangers have seen a second bid for Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry knocked back.
The Gers are desperate to add to their wide attacking options following a move for Couhaib Driouech collapsing due to injury.
Derek McInnes wants players who can come into the Ibrox side and make an immediate impact for his team.
Cozier-Duberry has been a name that has repeatedly popped up this summer, with an initial approach made a few weeks earlier.
With the Bears now looking to finalise their signings this summer, Cozier-Duberry is back on the agenda.
And Brighton have now responded to a second offer for the English winger as fresh details emerge.
How much have Rangers bid for Amario Cozier-Duberry?
Cozier-Duberry is an exciting talent and it is now wonder that Rangers are looking to sign him.
The Gers have previously failed with an approach for the Brighton man, but have now made their next attempt.
According to Fabrizio Romano via X on Monday afternoon, Rangers have submitted a second offer of £7million to the Seagulls.
However, that was rejected by the Premier League outfit, with a number of other sides keeping watch on the developments.
McInnes has spoken about wanting forwards who can make things happen, and according to former Arsenal youth coach Jack Wilshere, that is what Cozier-Duberry is.
As per The Sun, Wilshere stated in 2024, with Cozier-Duberry at Arsenal: "He’s definitely exciting, in some moments he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen."
Rangers will now have to decide whether to go back in for the 21-year-old or decide to move elsewhere in the market.
Who could Rangers move for next instead?
Rangers have not been shy to move back in for previous targets this summer and that could continue to be the case.
After seeing themselves fall short in the hunt for Cozier-Duberry, perhaps Rangers could try their luck again with Camilo Mena.
Targets such as Jahnoah Markelo are also now out of sight, with the former Coventry forward moving to Shabab Al Ahli instead.
Meanwhile, Rangers were priced out of a move for Algerian winger Fares Ghedjemis, putting an end to any chance of that transfer.
Overall, it will be interesting to see what steps the 49ers now take as the hunt for new wingers rumbles on at Ibrox.
Perhaps, some new targets will now begin to emerge with the previous options now reducing in likelihood.
