Why Couhaib Driouech collapse now looks even more bizarre for Rangers as next steps outlined
Couhaib Driouech's collapsed transfer to Rangers is looking more and more bizarre.
The 24-year-old looked set to join Rangers on Friday after being pictured in attendance at Ibrox the previous evening.
Driouech was in the stands to watch Rangers draw 1-1 with Jagiellonia and crash out of the Europa League at the qualifying stage.
However, rather than confirmation of a deal arriving on Friday, instead Rangers fans learned a deal had fallen through.
The reason why depends on which reports you read, but the bottom line is that Driouech will not be a Rangers player.
But the whole farce refuses to go quiet amid a new update that has emerged from the Netherlands.
What PSV plan next for Couhaib Driouech
Rangers' stance is that an injury issue was flagged in Driouech's medical this week.
However, word out of the Netherlands is that an agreement between the clubs simply could not be reached.
Conflicting reports over Driouech's proposed move to Rangers are certainly not helping matters, with the Light Blues badly struggling on the pitch right now.
Eindhoven Daily now report that PSV intend to integrate Driouech into training as soon as next week.
If the Moroccan winger did truly have an injury issue of any sort, surely that would not be the case?
Driouech, for his part, is said to be upset at the manner in which the situation was dealt with.
And the player has now posted his first message since the whole saga.
What has Driouech posted after Rangers transfer collapse?
Driouech can be forgiven for being annoyed at the way this sorry saga played out.
The former Excelsior ace posted a cryptic message on his Instagram story on Friday evening.
It shows the silhouette of someone through a window. Exactly what that means is anyone's guess.
Driouech can very much do his talking on the field before long, albeit at PSV rather than at Rangers.
As for the Gers, they must now work their way down the list of attacking targets in order to give Derek McInnes the ammunition he needs.
