PSV chief reveals how Couhaib Driouech feels about Rangers deal postponement and collapse

PSV's director Earnest Stewart has lifted the lid on Couhaib Driouech's collapsed move to Rangers.

The winger looked all but confirmed to be lining up for the Ibrox outfit this coming season.

However, following medical tests, Rangers opted to pull the plug on signing Driouech.

Conflicting reports have been emerging over whether that was truly the case in what has been an unfolding saga.

Dutch reports suggest Rangers and PSV couldn't agree on the final terms of the transfer with no mention of an injury.

Now the PSV director has shared how Driouech is feeling with him set to return to Eindhoven.

Everyone involved in the deal for Driouech will understandably be disappointed how it all played out.

Rangers have not signed their solution out wide, PSV have not parted ways with a fringe player and the winger's future remains unresolved.

However, it is the player who is truthfully most affected in this situation.

As shared by Eindhovens Dagblad, quotes have been emerging from Stewart in the aftermath of the deal collapsing.

The PSV director has shared that Driouech is "really upset" over his failed move to Rangers.

He stated: "Couhaib is really upset about it. Very unfortunate. He was left in uncertainty for 48 hours. Everything was also postponed by a day, and he has barely been able to do anything.

"We are now getting a disillusioned player back. That is not nice."

The winger is now set to return to PSV and it remains to be seen if he can secure a move elsewhere this window.

Rangers had concerns over his fitness, with fears that he could be out for a substantial part of the early season.

However, PSV did not agree with that assessment, trusting in their own medics.

How long did Rangers feel Driouech would be out for?

During Rangers medical tests of Driouech, their assessment of the winger's minor injury resulted in a much more serious issue in their minds.

As shared by Stewart, he suggests that Rangers felt the PSV forward would be out of action for up to six weeks.

The Bears want to sign attackers who can have an immediate impact Ibrox but Stewart is confused by the Glasgow club's actions.

He pointed out that this injury was just six weeks of a four-year contract.

Now, the Bears will have to search for alternatives to the 24-year-old with Derek McInnes' start at Ibrox putting him under early pressure.
