How Tony Bloom could play role in Rangers transfer with Amario Cozier-Duberry

It's no secret that Rangers are big fans of Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry this summer.

Derek McInnes is in the market for possibly two new wingers, with plenty of changes still to come at Ibrox.

Seven new signings are through the door already, with Philadelphia Union defender Olwethu Makhanya set to be next.

As Rangers prepare for their Scottish Premiership opener at Dundee United on Friday, business is rife.

Cozier-Duberry is one of those on the shortlist, after his exciting loan spell with Bolton last season.

That's where Brighton's majority owner Tony Bloom comes into play, and could his Hearts investment scupper any chances of a deal?

Where do Rangers stand with Cozier-Duberry?

Ibrox News has heavily covered Rangers' pursuit of Cozier-Duberry, including his comparisons to Bukayo Saka.

But, Brighton appear to not think he's ready for the Premier League yet.

Andy Devlin of the Scottish Sun has suggested that any move to Govan could come much later in the window.

That's if it happens at all, with a straight loan deal suggested, despite only two years being left on his deal at the AMEX Stadium.

Devlin would go onto ask this question: "You then factor in (Hearts investor) Tony Bloom into the equation. Does he want to put somebody on loan to a direct rival in the Premiership?"

That is the ultimate question.

Who else could Rangers sign?

It wouldn't be a normal transfer window if those at Ibrox weren't linked with several players at once, no matter how ridiculous.

Vaclav Cerny is the name that refuses to go away, and his possible return to Ibrox could be looked at, too.

Currently at Besiktas, who look set to sign Mohamed Salah, he is one to watch as the window progresses.

But, there's a sense that Rangers and McInnes need someone now, so waiting for Cozier-Duberry and Cerny isn't good enough.

Coventry's Jahnoah Markelo, who signed for £4.3million last summer when the Bears were also interested, is now a loan target again.

That is another interesting link to factor in, but it appears that Rangers are narrowing down their search.

Will Bloom sanction a move to Ibrox for Cozier-Duberry? If the terms are good enough, you'd assume so.
