Rangers' contract talks with Rydnn McGuire have come to a positive conclusion.

The 17-year-old goalkeeper has penned new terms with the Glasgow club which will see him stay for at least another three-years.

The goalkeeper position has been one that has had plenty of change this summer, with Jack Butland's exit paving way for Ivor Pandur to join.

With his new deal, McGuire will be hoping to eventually break into the side one day, with him yet to have a professional appearance for the first-team.

However, keeping him tied down in Glasgow means the Gers will not miss out on a player that has plenty of potential.

And the new contract for McGuire is just another step in the right direction for the G51 outfit.

What next for Rydnn McGuire at Rangers after contract signing?

McGuire would not have signed a new contract if there was no plan in place for him at Rangers.

And at just 17 years old, he has plenty of football ahead of him.

However, at the moment, breaking into the Rangers first-team will prove hard with the presence of Pandur and veteran Liam Kelly.

Nonetheless, while he will not have an immediate impact, it is a contract signing that brings plenty of excitement.

Four Lads Had a Dream have reacted to the news of McGuire's contract and it is safe to say they are buzzing with it.

They shared on X: "A player that is very highly regarded. Great news."

McGuire has been in and around the first-team already, with a place on the bench when Rangers took on Saint-Etienne in a pre-season friendly.

That inclusion shows just how highly he is rated at Ibrox.

If there is an injury or suspension to either Pandur or Kelly, he could then get a chance to once more appear on the bench for the Gers.

Why Kyle Glasgow has put Derek McInnes on notice with latest milestone away from Rangers

What has Derek McInnes said about McGuire?

The one opinion that truly matters for McGuire will be that of the manager's and Derek McInnes has high hopes for him.

Speaking with Rangers, McInnes said: "From day one, he has impressed me no end, and he’s a young man with a big future, if he continues to work hard at his game.

"As a club, we place huge importance on creating a clear pathway from the Academy into the first-team, and it’s vital that our young players can see opportunities to earn their place."

Of course, Rangers do have Allan McGregor currently working as a goalkeeping coach.

Working under a Gers legend such as McGregor will undoubtedly allow McGuire to continue on improving with eyes on walking that pathway that McInnes speaks of.
