Rangers takeover path cleared in blockbuster development
San Francisco 49ers now appear to be a step closer to finalising the takeover of Rangers with talks at an advanced stage.
The takeover could be completed in a few weeks with the NFL giants holding a majority stake in the Ibrox outfit.
Dave King is understood to have given the green signal for the deal, which is a major boost as he’s currently the single largest shareholder.

Rangers and San Francisco 49ers have their path cleared for the takeover
While the takeover is something that all parties seem to want, there are expected to be hurdles, particularly in terms of UEFA regulations.
Also, as the 49ers already own Leeds United, there is a further layer of complexities with regards to dual-club ownerships.
However, in what has been seen as a huge boost for Gers, the SFA have cleared the path for such a plan.
The Daily Record issued a “blockbuster” update revealing that things are now a lot closer than they have ever been.
Paraag Marathe, the chief of the 49ers’ investment arm, is understood to be front and centre of the pursuit to buy Rangers.

San Francisco 49ers can bring back the glory days to Ibrox
The NFL side are one of the best run teams in the United States and their influence in football cannot be understated either.
At Leeds, the club lost a number of big-name players this summer, having narrowly failed to secure promotion last season, and the expectation was that they would be nowhere next to the top of the table.
However, the 49ers stuck with Daniel Farke, made some smart investments with the money generated from big sales and Leeds look stronger now than they were a year ago.
Gers too, need certain players on big wages out as soon as possible, and by making smart transfers, they can not only bridge the gap with rivals Celtic but become the best team in Scotland for years.
