Drama as Nicolas Raskin transfer to Besiktas already collapses at Rangers

Nicolas Raskin has already seen his move to Besiktas from Rangers collapse.

Things appeared to be moving quickly for the Belgian star to leave Ibrox behind for Turkiye on Thursday

Rangers had an agreement in principle with Besiktas for Raskin, with a loan move including an option to buy next summer.

But with the transfer deadlines approaching quickly in both countries, the move has broken down already.

That could see Raskin remain at Ibrox with Derek McInnes.

Why has Nicolas Raskin move collapsed?

Given news of his impending exit only broke a couple of hours ago, this has changed very quickly.

Sky Sports Scotland have now reported that the move is in tatters.

It's stated that Besiktas had offered a significant loan fee with the option to buy that follows, but Rangers actually rejected those terms.

It's unknown whether or not at this stage Besiktas will return with an improved offer before their Friday deadline.

What next for Nicolas Raskin and Rangers?

Interestingly, it's said that Raskin will be in the squad for Falkirk on Wednesday evening.

Rangers have tasted success there over the past year, and McInnes will want another win after victory at Aberdeen on Sunday.

Raskin didn't feature at Pittodrie, but given how late it is into the window now, he could be straight back in tonight.

At this stage, no midfielder signed this summer is better than Raskin, and with trouble brewing already, McInnes may want to keep him now.

Kevin Kelsy, a striker, looks set to be the last incoming business of the summer too, so right now, it might be as you were until January.
