Nicolas Raskin: Details of Besiktas bid for Rangers star revealed - It's not great

Nicolas Raskin is heading for Besiktas from Rangers.

After months of speculation surrounding the Belgian star at Ibrox, he is finally packing his bags at the end of the window.

Many thought that Raskin would leave earlier in the summer, especially after such a good World Cup in North America.

Instead, he was used sparingly by Derek McInnes, who seemed reluctant to fully commit to the midfielder in his squad.

And after missing out completely against Jablonec and Aberdeen, Raskin is set for the exit door, but it may not be all good news.

What are the terms of Nico Raskin's exit?

Rangers have an agreement in principle to let Raskin go, but that's all that broke at first.

Now, more details have come to light.

Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has now reported via X that Besiktas have agreed an inital loan move for the Belgian midfielder.

The Turkish journalist states that an option to buy will be included, not an obligation.

It's said that an agreement on personal terms with Raskin is also close.

Why Nicolas Raskin was always going to leave

This has been clear from the very first day of the summer, with nobody hiding behind poor excuses.

Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers have spent huge again, and there was the idea that Raskin would be sold to balance the books.

So, the idea of an initial loan is the only negative behind this.

Rangers also went heavy with their midfield recruitment, signing Cammy Devlin, Dan Neil and Vanja Dragojevic.

Add Tochi Chukwuani and Thelo Aasgaard to that, and the options are endless for McInnes.

The only thing that could save this loan move is a hefty fee at the end of it, but given it's only an option and not obligation, there's no promises.

One thing is for sure, if Rangers lose Raskin for nothing at the end of his contract because of this loan, fans will not be happy at Ibrox.
