Rangers are not far away from Besiktas' valuation of Vaclav Cerny, Ibrox News understands.
The Czechia winger has been widely linked with a return to Ibrox this summer, and it appears a deal may be on the cards.
Reports in Turkey have emerged in recent days, claiming that the Gers are trying to bring Cerny back to Govan.
The 28-year-old notched 18 goals and nine assists in 52 matches for the Light Blues in the 2024-25 season.
Whether they can seal a deal before the 3 September Scottish deadline remains to be seen, but they have now received encouragement.

What would it take for Rangers to sign Vaclav Cerny?
Rangers have now found out how far apart they are in a deal for Cerny, as what it would take has been revealed.
Turkish journalist Dogukan Yildirim believes there is not much difference between the clubs, in terms of the price.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said: "Besiktas are asking for £8.5 million.
"There is information that the clubs are currently negotiating.
"This transfer will most likely happen with a difference of £850,000-to-£1.7m."
Surely, the 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh can stump up that extra bit of cash for the 30-cap international.
Why Rangers are back in for Cerny
A return for Cerny would reinvigorate a fanbase that is tired of standards slipping.
The Gers should be fighting for the Scottish Premiership and trophies, and recently, they have not come close.
Cerny has experience in Scottish football, ripping up the league in his loan spell.
He would be a major shot in the arm for Derek McInnes, both in terms of his contributions on the pitch and the effect he would have off it.
His signature could help the beleaguered manager to turn it all around before it is too late.
The 55-year-old needs help to avoid the sack, with recent results creating friction in the supporter base.
