Rangers transfer assessment on Vaclav Cerny dismissed as £8.5m exit expected
Rangers have been given encouragement in their pursuit of Besiktas forward Vaclav Cerny.
The Gers have been heavily linked with another move for the Czechia winger this transfer window.
Derek McInnes' side want to bolster their wide areas and have the former VfL Wolfsburg attacker on their radar.
Cerny enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Ibrox during the 2024-25 campaign and could return before the 3 September Scottish transfer deadline.

What is now being said about Rangers move for Vaclav Cerny
There have been suggestions that Rangers wanted to seal a move for Cerny and were about to turn their verbal offer into an official one.
It looks like a formal bid has now arrived on Besiktas' table from the Gers, according to well-known Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
The Light Blues feel the Istanbul club don't want to sell the 28-year-old forward, but those claims have been dismissed.
Cerny's exit from the Super Lig club looks to be on the cards, with between £6.8million to £8.5m wanted for him.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on 29 August, Sabuncuoglu said, "A formal offer has arrived at Beşiktas from Rangers for Cerny. When I contacted the Rangers side, they claimed Besiktas wouldn't let the player go, but that isn't true.
"Besiktas are looking for an offer in the double-digit millions, though I expect something around €8m to €10m. They are going to let Cerny go."
