Fashion Sakala could leave Rangers with game time limited, Spanish clubs want to sign him

Fashion Sakala’s Rangers career could be coming to an end amid transfer interest from Spain, according to Football Scotland.

The Scottish news outlet wrote on their website (14 July) that the winger is expected to see him game time limited this season after Michael Beale added several attackers to his squad.

With interest from unnamed Spanish clubs, as well as talk of interest from Saudi Arabia (Fourth Official, 13 July), it seems that we may have seen the last of the 26-year-old at Ibrox.

“Meanwhile Fashion Sakala is attracting interest from Spain as his time at Rangers could be coming to an end,” they wrote (15 July).

“The club have brought in a number of attacking options this summer and Sakala’s game time next season could be limited.”

Tough

It seems there may be a change of direction coming at Rangers when it comes to transfer business.

Sakala was in fantastic form in the second half of the season at Ibrox after the arrival of Beale, ending the season as the second top scorer behind James Tavernier and had his performances described as “Outstanding” by members of the media.

Rangers

But with talk of a £4m fee being on the table for his services, it seems as though Rangers are open to a sale if the money is right.

Long gone are the days of rejecting big money for good players because they’re part of the squad, and it seems the club has learnt that lesson the hard way after losing Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos on free transfers this summer.

Sakala is popular at Ibrox but he certainly isn’t irreplaceable. Fans will understand if he is sold for such a fee, and if that money helps to strengthen the squad elsewhere in the future then it can only be a good thing.

In other Rangers news, one player is set to leave the club after talks with Beale.
