Derek McInnes' team selection for Rangers' draw against Dundee raised some questions.

The Bears picked up a point in a 2-2 draw at Dens Park on Saturday, dropping points in the overall context of the Scottish Premiership title race.

Celtic followed up on the Gers' misfortunes by beating Hearts 7-1 on Sunday, making the result against Dundee feel even worse.

McInnes may have thought that the Light Blues were set to bring three points back to Govan after goals from Badredine Bouanani and Nicolas Raskin helped flip the complexion of the match.

However, Dan Neil's mistake allowed Steven Pressley's side to get back into the game and earn a point at home.

McInnes' decision to drop Kevin Kelsy has come under question following the draw, but Keith Jackson believes the Rangers manager's decision was the right one to make.

Keith Jackson 'totally understood' Derek McInnes' call to drop Kevin Kelsy

Kelsy has been starting alongside Ryan Naderi up top for Rangers in recent weeks, with the two big strikers complementing each other well.

The £9.5million summer signing has already proved that he is a force to be reckoned with for the Light Blues, leaving many fans puzzled as to why he was left on the bench against Dundee.

The Venezuelan international came on for the final 14 minutes of the match, but clearly didn't have enough time to make the desired impact.

McInnes' decision to drop Kelsy also allowed him to find space to start Bouanani, which is exactly why Jackson believes the Rangers boss made the correct move.

Speaking on the Daily Record's Hotline Live, Jackson said: "I totally understood why Bouanani came into that side, and Kelsy came out of it. Bouanani, his goal was a different class. Bouanani, to me, looks like a difference-maker.

"I can completely understand why McInnes wanted to find a way to get him into the team."

Bouanani signed for the Gers on an initial season-long loan from VfB Stuttgart in the summer, but they do hold the option to buy him for £15.5million.

The Algerian has opened up his account for the Bears, and McInnes will be hoping there's plenty more from where that came from.

But how does Kelsy get back into the team?

What Rangers player may be victim to future Kelsy decision?

Rangers play St. Johnstone next in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, and the Bears need nothing other than a win.

The likelihood is that Kelsy will start in this game, especially now that he's had a rest.

But Bouanani's first goal for Rangers also puts him in strong contention to start too, so who gets dropped for Kelsy?

Well, the answer would surely have to be Djeidi Gassama, who once again failed to deliver and slipped more than he actually created.

At least Minsu Kim is showing that drive and determination, and the goal involvements will surely follow.
