Rangers transfer round-up: Cerny replacement found as deal struck for Wolves gem
Rangers are set for a busy few weeks in the transfer window with Russell Martin’s side set for plenty of incoming and outgoings.
Martin’s side have already completed the signings of Joe Rothwell and Max Aarons this summer as he makes the English leagues his hunting ground.
Rangers have now turned their attention to improving their attack, with the Blues still expecting changes to their team ahead of the start of next season.
Here, Ibrox News rounds up all the big transfer talk from the past 24 hours.

AEK plan to speak with Rangers again in bid to sign Dessers
While Martin has been prioritising improving his defence, he could now face his first difficult decision in charge of Gers.
Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos reported on X (7 July) that 13-time Greek champions AEK Athens will contact Rangers again for Dessers.
He added that the Greek club are now considering other striker options, with negotiations seemingly going nowhere.
While the move makes it clear that AEK don’t have the reported £6million Rangers want, it is worrying that Dessers is entertaining the idea of leaving the Blues.
Forwards needed at Ibrox ahead of new campaign
After strengthening their defence and bringing Rothwell to help the midfield, Martin’s focus will now switch to reinforcing their attack.
Writing in the print edition of the Daily Record (7 July, pg 47), Keith Jackson says the final third needs to be addressed next, with big money likely to be spent on three additions.
“They need to concentrate on the top end of the team now, with two wingers and at least one striker top of the agenda,” he wrote.
“That’ll be the expensive part of this rebuild, but absolutely essential,” Jackson said.
If Dessers does leave, Rangers face a challenge in finding a suitable replacement; however, it is likely that Martin will once again look to England for his next goalscorer.

Rangers want to sign Grady Diangana
With a potential move for Václav Černý in doubt, Rangers could now turn their attention elsewhere.
That’s because Rangers are believed to be lining up a move for former West Brom winger Grady Diangana.
| West Brom | Games | Goals | Assists |
| Diangana | 34 | 4 | 2 |
The Congo international was signed for £18million by West Bromwich Albion in 2020, but ultimately didn’t prove his worth as the Baggies failed to be promoted from the Championship.
The 27-year-old’s form ultimately dipped massively towards the end of his seven-year stint at The Hawthorns.
As a result, The Albion didn’t offer him a new contract at the end of last season, and he is now available on a free transfer, with Portsmouth also interested in the winger.
Djiga set to sign for Rangers as Wolves deal agreed
Martin looks set to bolster his defence even more this summer with the signing of Nasser Djiga.
The 22-year-old moved to Wolves in the January transfer window after spending a year and a half at Red Star Belgrade.
He has found his game time limited at the Molineux and is set to make the move to Ibrox on a season-long loan, according to a report shared by Liam Keen via X (7 July).
