Ridvan Yilmaz makes shock U-turn as £4.2m transfer news emerges at Rangers

Ridvan Yilmaz is ready to leave Rangers to join Besiktas before the transfer window closes, according to Firat Gunayer.

The Turkish journalist revealed via his Rabona YouTube channel (2 February) that Besiktas president Serdan Adali has convinced Yilmaz of the transfer despite the left-back initially stating that he does not want to return to Turkiye.

However, the Light Blues will only let the 23-year-old leave on loan if the Super Lig giants agree to make the move permanent for around £3.75-4.2million, thus making it the “biggest” problem for his suitors.

Adali is not prepared to pay as high as £4.2m for Yilmaz and is, therefore, waiting to see if the Glasgow outfit will ease their stance.

Philippe Clement to sanction Ridvan Yilmaz exit at Rangers?

It is unclear if Philippe Clement will allow Yilmaz to leave, especially this late in the window.

However, the Gers may be willing to do business with Besiktas if the finances are right for them as they insist on a mandatory buy clause at £3.75-4.2m.

It is worth noting that the Premiership heavyweights signed the Turkiye international for £3.4m in the summer of 2022 [Sky Sports].

Therefore, they are keen to make a profit on Yilmaz’s sale if they are to sanction an exit at this stage in the winter transfer window.

Clement may not be too concerned about letting the defender leave, with Jefte more or less being his first-choice left-back.

Besiktas, for their part, need not hurry to complete the transfer as the transfer window in Turkey does not close until next Tuesday, 11 February.

Meanwhile, Yilmaz is not the only player linked with a move away from Ibrox ahead of the deadline day in Scotland on Monday (3 February).

Cyriel Dessers could also be on his way out of Govan before the window slams shut.

In other Rangers news, a new Ryan Kent transfer update has emerged at Ibrox ahead of the transfer deadline.
