Rangers in contract extension talks with Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that Rangers are looking to extend the contracts of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

Both attackers have now entered the final year of their deals at Ibrox and have constantly been linked with the exit door.

Kent has been linked with a move to Leeds United while Morelos’ inner circle sees Sevilla as an ideal destination ahead of next season.

Rangers’ media partners Heart and Hand, via their official Twitter handle, wrote, “Gio confirms talks with Kent and Alfie.”

Both set to stay?

Of the two, we believe that Kent is the likelier one to stay and pen a new deal within the coming weeks to commit his future to the club.

He has seldom encouraged exit links and appears to be enjoying his time in the Scottish capital.

Morelos, on the other hand, has been linked with the exit door time and again and with a year left on his deal, anything can happen.

He or his representatives have never come out to quash any exit rumours and we think that if his move to Sevilla materialises, he’s going to be on his way to Spain.

It would be hard losing a player of his calibre, but if Gers can rope in another young striker and give competition to Antonio Colak then it does make sense to cash in on the Colombian.

If he signs a new deal, then will and good as Giovanni van Bronckhorst would certainly like to build his Gers team around the striker.

In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
