Why Rangers are getting their wish as Nicolas Raskin exit now 'imminent'
Nicolas Raskin appears to be on the verge of leaving Rangers for big money.
The Belgium international has been linked with the Ibrox exit for a number of weeks.
Raskin's performances at the World Cup only intensified talk he could be on his way this summer.
Ibrox News reported on Saturday that Villarreal are the latest side to show an interest in Raskin.
Rangers have stood firm on their £20million valuation of the 25-year-old midfielder.
And it looks as though the Gers could be about to get their wish.
Nicolas Raskin set for Rangers exit - but where to?
Rangers have done well to keep hold of Raskin in the past, with transfer speculation surrounding the ex-Standard Liege ace nothing new.
Hull City had a bid of £14m rejected for Raskin, with that a show of intent from the Gers with regards to how highly they value their prized asset.
According to an update via the Daily Record, further offers have come in for Raskin that are edging closer to Rangers' asking price.
The report adds that "a deal could be struck imminently", with the Gers very much getting their wish of a multi-club transfer battle.
As well as Hull and Villarreal, Serie A pair Bologna and Atalanta have been linked, as have the likes of Manchester United and Aston Villa.
While the offers are getting closer to the magic £20m mark, it is not yet clear exactly who leads the way for Raskin.
Where would Raskin rank among Rangers' record sales?
If Raskin does indeed leave for £20m, which appears likely, he would move to number one on the list of Rangers' most expensive sales.
Calvin Bassey currently holds that honour following his £19.6m move to Ajax in July 2022.
Nathan Patterson is next on the list following a £12m move to Everton four years ago, followed by Alan Hutton (£9m move to Tottenham in 2008).
Raskin will depart with the best wishes of everyone at Rangers, with supporters simply hoping every last penny is then reinvested in the squad.
