Nicolas Raskin's proposed move to Hull City looks to be in doubt as Rangers stand firm on their valuation of the midfielder.

The Tigers reportedly made a bid of between £12-14million for the Belgian earlier this week.

The 25-year-old has starred at the World Cup with his country, which has only increased the hype around his future.

Raskin was one of Rangers' best players last season and he has taken his form into the tournament.

The MKM Stadium side are one of several that are interested in the Ibrox star.

However, it looks like they will not be progressing beyond that initial bid as their approach has hit a buffer.

Why Hull could end their attempts to sign Nicolas Raskin?

The newly-promoted side are looking to bolster their midfielder ahead of a return to the Premier League.

A report from the Hull Daily Mail on Sunday claimed that the Gers have set their price tag and are holding out for a figure of around £20m.

It states that while Sergej Jakirovic's side rate Raskin, there is a gulf between the sides when it comes to a potential fee.

Derek McInnes could still lose the midfielder as the likes of Bologna and Real Betis also want to sign him.

Even if Hull do not continue with their pursuit, the Light Blues may still end up doing business with the Championship side in the near future.

What business could happen between Hull and Rangers?

The Gers want to bring Ivor Pandur in between the sticks, with the potential to send Jack Butland the other way in a swap deal.

The goalkeeping position has been a problem for a number of years, with the former Stoke City man regularly making mistakes that cost his side.

That could be a way for the Humberside outfit to work around their Profit and Sustainability issues that threaten to derail their season before it has even started.

Another potential piece of business is a player plus cash deal that could see them reignite their Raskin chase.

A £10m plus Pandur offer could convince the Gers, given that the stopper is rated at that price, so the total package would be valued at £20m.

Only time will tell but it could be a very interesting summer for both clubs, if they can work something out for either player.
