Hull City have hit a stumbling block after launching a bid in the region of £12-14million for Rangers ace Nicolas Raskin.

Raskin is facing an uncertain future at Ibrox, with the Belgium ace linked with an exit in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is currently away representing Belgium at the World Cup, but his future could come more into focus after the tournament.

Raskin was one of the Gers' better performers in an underwhelming campaign last season, scoring six goals, providing seven assists, and creating 12 big chances in 33 Scottish Premiership appearances.

His performances have seemingly attracted attention south of the border down in England, while Bologna - coached by his former Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco - are said to be interested.

Premier League new boys Hull are interested in taking him to the MKM Stadium, though their pursuit may already have hit a snag.

Why Hull City's Nicolas Raskin bid might already be a non-starter

Hull's play-off final victory over Middlesbrough has given them a financial windfall said to be around the £200million mark.

As such, the Tigers are looking to splash the cash to improve their squad after returning to the top flight after a nine-year exile.

Raskin has been identified as a player with the quality to boost their options in midfield.

However, BBC Humberside sports editor Mike White said that Hull's bid of £12-14m is below Rangers' £20m valuation and, as such, may be priced out of a deal.

He said on air: "Here’s one I’ll throw in. Nicolas Raskin, Rangers midfielder. Definite interest but I think the transfer fee’s going to be a bit of a stumbling block.

"Bologna are reportedly interest in that as well. I think City have offered in the region between £12 and £14million, he’s valued higher than that around £20m, and I think that’s going to price him out for City."

Rangers could suffer from World Cup exploits as Euro club want Nicolas Raskin

Who has Rangers ace Raskin previously been linked to?

Raskin being linked with a move away from Govan is not exactly new, given he has been one of Rangers' most consistent performers in recent times.

The box-to-box midfielder previously attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Wolves in last year's summer window, though that never materialised into anything concrete.

Serie A side Atalanta have previously been said to be tracking Raskin, while there appears legs in the Bologna rumours given his history with Tedesco.

Still, though, Rangers should not feel under any pressure to take any bid lower than their valuation.

Ultimately, Raskin still has two years left on his contract. A decision will need to be made so that he does not wind too much time down.

But, they are in a strong negotiating position if they do decide to cash while his value is high, and the interest is there.
