Rangers striker Danilo is increasingly closer to securing his move out of Ibrox.

The Brazilian has fallen out of favour over the last few seasons and Derek McInnes has not looked to reintegrate him.

Danilo would have been competing with Lawrence Shankland, Youssef Chermiti, Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski for a place in the squad.

So, allowing him to depart makes plenty of sense for everyone involved as he looks to spark life back into his career.

And when that transfer will officially be sealed has just emerged.

Why Danilo exit is now imminent at Rangers following the latest updates

Danilo looks almost certain to depart back to his home nation of Brazil.

Serie A side Botafogo are hoping to seal a deal to bring the striker to the Rio de Janeiro-based outfit.

It appears that move is moving increasingly closer as the forward's whereabouts have been revealed by the Daily Record.

The 27-year-old was pictured in Galeao Airport in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday night.

The South American is set to complete his medical in Brazil, with the report sharing that his loan should be "rubber-stamped" on Friday.

The Gers would ideally have wanted a permanent exit and getting him off the books for good.

There was little space in the squad for the Brazilian, and keeping him in G51 while still taking space on the wages books would not have been financially smart.

What is next for Derek McInnes' Rangers?

It is looking like a busy 24 hours for the Gers in both the incoming and outgoing departments.

Vanja Dragojevic has been officially announced as a Rangers player and Danilo is now set to seal his exit for the upcoming season.

But work is not done at Ibrox yet. As McInnes is still wanting one or two more signings before the season begins.

When it comes to potential arrivals, the Bears have missed out on Sankhoun Diawara who looks to be heading to AC Milan.

However, the future of Jens Hjerto-Dahl remains up in the air amid a battle with Rangers and Cardiff.

The latest updates on Hjerto-Dahl had seemingly placed Rangers in pole position, so perhaps he could be next through the door.
