How Rangers are finally putting the Michael Beale chapter behind them as Danilo exit nears
Michael Beale ultimately failed to deliver at Ibrox, and many of his signings have failed to live up to expectations as well.
Brazilian striker Danilo was one of three forwards signed that summer, with both Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammens joining as well.
Danilo had spent the second-half of last season out on loan, and it was hoped he would complete a permanent move following that spell.
But that has not been the case, and with Lawrence Shankland, Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi at Ibrox, there is no space for the South American.
However, with him out of Derek McInnes' plans, a move out of G51 could be sealed quite quickly amid the latest reports.
When will Danilo secure his Rangers exit?
Ibrox News have been following the reports about Botafogo targeting Rangers forward Danilo.
Now, it seems that interest has gone one step further and a confirmation could be released quite soon.
The Daily Record have now reported on their live transfer blog that Danilo's move back to Brazil is set to be completed tomorrow (16 July).
The outlet has not reported what the agreement over the deal is, but previous suggestions were that Danilo was to leave on a loan-to-buy option.
With his contract at Ibrox expiring in 2028, if he were to fail to impress in Brazil, that could see Rangers back with the same issue.
Nonetheless, the departure of the striker may finally put the remnants of that Beale era firmly in the past, as the reminders continue to disappear.
Are there still any Michael Beale signings left at Ibrox?
There are still a couple of Beale signings left at Rangers, but those numbers could continue to dwindle over the coming weeks.
While the signing of Danilo was a failure, Nicolas Raskin was also brought by the Englishman.
But, the Belgian's impressive performances for the Gers could now see him earn a move elsewhere amid multiple reports.
Jose Cifuentes was also brought to Ibrox by Beale. He has since returned from a loan with Toronto, but it is hard to see his future being in Glasgow.
The likelihood is that an exit will be sought be all parties.
Dujon Sterling is another player on that list of transfers, and with no concrete links out of Ibrox emerging, he could very well be the sole reminder left from the disappointing reign of Beale.
