Where Rangers can expect Camilo Mena to excel as Polish football expert delivers verdict
Talk of Rangers moving for Camilo Mena has begun to return.
The Colombian winger, playing in Poland for Lechia Gdansk, has previously been mooted as an option for Derek McInnes' side.
Now, after failing to get deals for the likes of Couhaib Driouech and Cozier Amario-Duberry over the line, attention could turn elsewhere.
Ibrox News have exclusively shared how much Rangers are willing to spend on Mena this summer.
While, a Polish football scout has heard Mena to Rangers is "close," with the signs certainly pointing to a move being made.
Now, Rangers have been told what exactly they could expect the Colombian to bring to the Ibrox pitch.
What Camilo Mena would bring to Rangers
McInnes has spoken about needing players who can change games on their own, and one way to go about that is opening a match up with your technical ability.
This can either be completed by unlocking a defense with a world-class pass, or beating the man in front of you with the ball at your feet.
When it comes to Mena, he fits the latter criteria.
Speaking to Ibrox News, Lechia Gdansk journalist, Karolina Jaskulska, who reports for Polish outlet Kanal Sportowy, has given the lowdown on Mena.
The journalist says: "Camilo is a really universal player, he can play as a winger and as a striker too. He is fast and a really good dribbler.
"He become a Lechia player in 2023. Scored 14 goals and had 30 assists in 89 games.
"He is a big quality player. Now captain of Lechia - so it shows big character.
"His main attitude is dribbling and in one-versus-ones and I think he can adapt to the Scottish league well."
What is next for Rangers in the transfer market?
While work is underway for wingers, Rangers are also looking to secure another right-back.
Kosta Nedeljkovic is set to take his medical with Rangers ahead of his loan with an obligation to buy move.
The Bears are also looking to add another striker to McInnes' squad, with Youssef Chermiti poised for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The South American contingent at Ibrox could grow further past Mena, with Venezuelan Kevin Kelsy the emerging option for Rangers this summer so far.
Other than that, it will remain to be seen if that is the final work that gets completed.
But if all three deals go through, that would bring the total number of incomings to 13 this window.
