What Rangers are thinking of doing next after PSV reject Couhaib Driouech bid

Rangers have been pushing to get a deal done for PSV winger Couhaib Driouech.

After sealing a transfer for Daisuke Yokota, the Bears are looking to add more wide forwards to their frontline.

It has been a problem position for Derek McInnes so far, and that was evident with Rangers' attack struggling against Jagellonia Bialystok.

Official approaches have been made over the last day for Driouech as they look to rectify those issues.

And an answer on Rangers' most recent bid for the Eredivise forward has come in.

With the Bears' next steps also outlined following that response.

Rangers move for Driouech has had plenty of twists and turns already.

As the Gers looked to seal a deal for the Moroccan youth international, Celta Vigo had entered the race to hijack the Driouech transfer.

The Bears, however, did still have a bid lodged for the winger, and were awaiting the answer on that approach.

Now, Sky Sports have shared that PSV have rejected a £6million offer from the Ibrox side.

Rangers are still among those in the hunt for Driouech transfer, although they do face competition from the aforementioned Celta Vigo as well as Burnley who are also said to be in the race.

Those two clubs are only in the early stages of talks for the winger.

The Bears, while in the mix for the PSV forward are now considering other options besides the 24-year-old following the rejection.

Where could Rangers turn to?

Rangers have not been moving slowly in the market this summer by any means.

They have already made 10 signings for the 2026-2027 season as they look to capture the Scottish Premiership title.

The same can be said about their pursuit of wingers, it has been far from slow.

Rangers have been linked to a number of attackers, and before signing Yokota, Rangers were eyeing both Amario Cozier-Duberry and Jahnoah Markelo.

After securing the signing of the Japanese winger, it is unclear if that remains the case, but they could return back for either of those names now following the Driouech rejection.

Meanwhile, interest in Fares Ghedjemis has cooled.

It will be interesing to see who ends up arriving at Auchenhowie as Rangers' next pick up, as they clearly want to get a winger over the line as soon as possible.
