Why Dutch journalist faced wrath of Scotland as Rangers close in on Couhaib Driouech

Couhaib Driouech hasn't even signed for Rangers yet, but he's already leaving Scottish football in anger.

Derek McInnes is desperate for attacking reinforcements, with Daisuke Yokota signing from Hannover 96.

The Bears aren't done there, though, with Ibrox set to welcome several more new faces over the next month.

Rangers have made their move for Driouech with millions on the table, but PSV Eindhoven haven't given the green light yet.

That's not to say it isn't coming, though.

And as those in Holland close to the transfer continue to comment, Celtic fans are, hilariously, far from happy.

Rangers fans will be tickled by the latest, with Celtic supporters proving their obsessions yet again.

Eindhovens Daglbad journalist Rif Elfrink made a critical error, in the eyes of many following Scottish football.

Sharing what he has learned from sources close to Driouech, Elfrink said the winger is open to a move to "the top club" in Scotland.

While lost in translation, he wasn't ready for the backlash that followed.

"I always thought that saying something about PSV, Feyenoord, and Ajax could be a sensitive topic," he started.

"But, calling Rangers a top club in Scotland is also a real no-go for some people."

Celtic could be put in their place by Rangers

While Celtic take their time and frustrate yet again in the market, McInnes is looking to add genuine quality.

After shopping in England far too much in recent years, the Bears are now shopping in Europe, and not just small names.

Take Driouech for example, he wants the move to Ibrox despite helping PSV smash Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League last season.

He scored twice on the night, and wants to bring that to Govan.

Then, there's Frosinone's Fared Ghedjemis.

Celtic also want the winger, but Rangers have outbid them so far, and could even go again to secure the Algerian star.

If he signs too, forget a mistake from a Dutch journalist, fans at Parkhead would be fuming at their own club.

Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers are backing McInnes to the very top, now he just has to make sure that Rangers top Celtic.

Then, a real meltdown would ensue.
