Couhaib Driouech ready to agree Rangers personal terms as multi-million bid inbound with bonuses
Rangers are expected to open the bidding for PSV winger Couhaib Driouech.
The 24-year-old Moroccan was left out of the PSV squad that lost to AZ Alkmaar in the Johan Cruyff Shield on Saturday due to an injury.
Despite this, Rangers are now locked in talks to sign the Haarlem-born left-winger, turning their attention to him after an £8million bid for Frosinone's Fares Ghedjemis was rejected.
Eindhovens Daglbad journalist Rif Elfrink now expects the Gers to submit an offer for Driouech, expected to be between £6m and £6.8m, including bonuses.
Elfrink adds that it "could turn into a serious deal", but also casts doubt about how far negotiations will go.
But that's not the only update coming out of the Netherlands.
PSV's stance on selling Couhaib Driouech to Rangers
In the most encouraging update yet, Voetbal International claims that PSV "intend to reach an agreement" with Rangers over a deal for Driouech.
The Dutch news outlet reports that formal negotiations are underway between the two clubs, with the Scottish Premiership side taking the lead in the race for his signature after a previous approach from Red Bull Salzburg.
Driouech played 40 times in all competitions for PSV last season, scoring nine goals and supplying eight assists.
Two of those goals came against Liverpool in a shock 4-1 PSV win in the Champions League group phase but most impressive is that he notched up that tally with just nine total starts.
The most important thing, though, is whether or not Driouech himself is keen on the move to Ibrox.
Is Driouech sold on the Ibrox project?
It sure seems like it.
VI adds in their report that Driouech is "open to a move to Scotland" and a "long-term contract awaits him" in Govan.
It almost seems like a formality to get this deal done, with all the parties involved happy to reach agreements.
Rangers will be adding some serious firepower to their attack if they can sign the former Excelsior Rotterdam winger.
His goalscoring record last season is very impressive considering he wasn't an out-and-out starter and his brace against Liverpool speaks volumes about his ability to step up in big games.
