Rangers in talks to offload Nedim Bajrami as financial terms emerge

Rangers are in talks to offload Nedim Bajrami during the summer transfer window.

The Albania international made the move to Ibrox from Sassuolo back in August 2024.

However, the 27-year-old has struggled for consistency in a Rangers shirt and made only 12 Scottish Premiership appearances last season.

Bajrami is one of several players who has been told he is not part of Derek McInnes plans for the coming summer.

With Rangers undergoing a heavy recruitment drive to improve McInnes squad before the end of the window, offloading Bajrami would free up space.

And it now looks as though progress is being made on finding Bajrami a move home before the window shuts.

Ibrox News reported earlier this month that Bajrami could be in line for a surprise move away from Rangers.

Clubs in Italy and Turkey were said to be monitoring the situation of Bajrami, who has fallen down the pecking order.

However, Sunsport has now revealed that Saudi Pro League club Al Taawoun want to sign Bajrami this summer.

Al Taawoun are said to be in talks with Rangers over an initial loan move, with a future fee of £2.5million.

Negotiations are ongoing, with Sunsport saying that other clubs are waiting in the wings to potentially launch a move for Bajrami.

What do Rangers want next?

The report adds that Rangers also want to sign new two wingers this summer.

With Oliver Antman on his way to Anderlecht, and Bajrami potentially on the way out too, space is being made for attacking reinforcement.

A return for Vaclav Cerny continues to be mooted, though as yet there has been no breakthrough with Besiktas.

Coventry City winger Jahnoah Markelo and Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry are also reportedly on the radar at Ibrox.

Right now, youngster Findlay Curtis, Djeidi Gassama, and Ross McCausland - back from a loan spell at Aris Limassol - are the primary wide options available.

But McInnes will be desperate to add further reinforcements on the flank during the remainder of the window.

The Gers have predominantly focused on improving the spine of the team during the window so far, but the next priority is on improving the final third.
