Rangers exit option opens up for Nedim Bajrami in surprise destination - sources
Rangers star Nedim Bajrami could have a new escape route.
The Albanian has struggled for gametime at Ibrox since joining the Govan club in 2024.
That did not change under the management of Danny Rohl, who played him just nine times.
He would face a battle to convince Derek McInnes, the potential new Gers manager that he is worthy of a place in the side.
Ibrox News previously exclusively revealed that the 27-year-old was happy to remain with the Glasgow giants, despite interest from Italy.
However, the situation may not be as simple as that, as a new claim has now been made on his future.
What has now been said about Nedim Bajrami's Rangers future?
A different source in Albania, prominent journalist Anton Cicani, believes that Bajrami is pushing for an exit, and a surprise destination could be on the cards.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said: “Bajrami, who is still in the agency of Fali Ramadani, Lian Sports, is trying to return in Serie A in Italy.
“Or even in Serie B, there has been some contacts but nothing is done yet.
“One option could even be in the Turkish second league.
“He needs to reduce his salary, because as of now he gets about £25,000-per-week.”
Why Bajrami may end up at surprise destination
The second division of Turkey would be a fall from grace for Bajrami, but he needs to start playing regularly again.
If Cicaci's information is right, then it would certaintly be an interesting exit option, as some up and coming clubs might want to make an impression and push for the top-tier.
Bajrami does not seem to have much of a career left in G51, as multiple managers have not fancied him as a key player, and there is little indication that will change anytime soon.
Italy would be a better move for the player, but if his wage demands prove a sticking point, he may have to fall back on the other option.
For now, Light Blues fans will be patiently waiting for a concrete offer to arrive, as none have come in yet, but that could change very quickly in the transfer market.
The Bears are not under pressure to sell, as he is contracted until 2028, but an exit may benefit both parties.
