Rangers completing 'final elements' of Vanja Dragojevic signing, with another deal to come
Rangers are closing in on a deal to sign Partizan Belgrade captain Vanja Dragojevic.
The 20-year-old midfielder was a star player for the Serbian giants last season, completing 41 appearances in total and scoring four goals.
Despite his tender age, Dragojevic has already played over 50 times for the Partizan senior side and was trusted with the captain's armband last term.
Now, it looks as though he's on the verge of a move to Ibrox to join up with Derek McInnes' ever-evolving team with the 2026-27 Scottish Premiership season now just weeks away from kicking off.
Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey, Ivor Pandur, Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin have all joined the Gers so far this summer.
And while Dragojevic is also on the cusp of a move, he's not the only one Rangers are zeroing in on.
Rangers at final stages of Vanja Dragojevic deal - but who could come next?
Sky Sports reported on Friday evening that the Light Blues are completing the "final elements" of a deal that brings the Serbia international to Glasgow.
It is understood that the deal is worth £4million.
However, Dragojevic isn't the only midfielder McInnes is trying to snap up with Sky Sports adding that Ibrox chiefs talks have also been in talks to sign Norwegian midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl from Tromso.
Ibrox News has already covered claims that Rangers have agreed personal terms with Hjerto-Dahl, but need to offload players before they can finalise a fee with his club.
But with Hjerto-Dahl costing closer to £7m and Dragojevic costing just over half of that, it looks like a deal for the Serbian is currently affordable.
It now seems like a matter of when, not if, the deal will be confirmed.
When can Rangers fans expect Dragojevic to be announced?
It seems like there's still a fair bit of work that needs to be done for Dragojevic's move to Ibrox.
Talks are still being held and Sky Sports' report suggests that the finishing touches are being put on an agreement.
After all of that is in place, it'll be a case of jetting the midfielder into Glasgow to get him to do a medical, sign his contract, do his media work and then integrate with McInnes' squad.
That could theoretically be done quickly, but a pragmatic prediction would be that this is a deal that might be wrapped up early next week.
