Rangers agreement for Vanja Dragojevic now days away after bid made - Exclusive
Vanja Dragojevic's move to Rangers could be finalised as early as this week, Ibrox News understands.
The Bears are looking to continue their rebuild under Derek McInnes, with the Partizan captain a concrete target.
Reports out of Serbia had shared that a £3.9million bid was put on the table for the midfielder.
However, the Balkan club are holding out for an additional increase in funds via potential add-ons.
Rangers have put plenty of focus in acquiring leaders, and while the Serbian is only 20 years old, has captained Partizan.
Dragojevic would mark the sixth signing for the Bears this summer, and McInnes' fifth since arriving at Ibrox.
How Rangers are expected to resolve current Vanja Dragojevic complication
As stated previously, the current issue holding up an agreement over the Dragojevic deal is a slight difference in valuation.
While Partizan are not looking for a higher up front fee, they are hoping to land more in add-ons.
And that appears to be a situaton that should be easily resolved.
Speaking to Ibrox News, Aleksandar Joksic, a journalist for Mozzart Sport, who first reported on the links, has shared when a transfer could be completed.
Joksic stated: "At this moment, I know that only Glasgow Rangers is interested, and the official bid is on the club's table, and I think that another million is available that it could be resolved.
"So it's a matter of time. It's a matter of days. Let's say the end of the week or maybe the beginning of the next week, that the deal could go through."
Dragojevic could certainly be a Rangers players soon as long as no more hurdles land in the Glasgow side's way.
Partizan are seemingly resigned to losing Dragojevic, as they left him out of their latest pre-season friendly.
If Rangers complete Dragojevic deal as expected, when could he debut?
If a deal for Dragojevic is finalised over the next few days, or by the beginning of next week, his first appearance for Rangers as viewed by fans could have to wait.
The midfielder has already been going through the paces with Partizan having featured in their first two pre-season friendlies.
So, he would be arriving with a solid level of match sharpness but so far, the Glasgow side have only announced one friendly.
That is a fixture at Ibrox against West Ham on 25 July. Much of that may have been down to confusion over the Gers' plans.
McInnes made a late decision to swap Austria for a Rangers camp in Spain, as preparations for the start of the season get underway.
