Bojan Miovski delusional if he truly believes latest Rangers comments

Bojan Miovski appears to think his contribution for Rangers last season was acceptable, but the forward is badly wrong.

The North Macedonia international joined Rangers from LaLiga side Girona last summer in a deal that could rise to £4.2million.

There was much excitement at Ibrox upon Miovski’s arrival, having shown exactly what he is capable of during his previous spell in Scotland with Aberdeen.

However, Miovski did not have the impact many were expecting and he often found himself on the outside looking in.

Yet if the 26-year-old’s latest comments are anything to go by, he seems to think he performed okay in front of goal in a dire campaign for Rangers.

Bojan Miovski uses skewed stats to make Rangers point

Miovski was Rangers’ second worst player in 2025-26 according to the stats, behind only Jayden Meghoma.

“I’m pleased with my goalscoring output considering my playing time, as I believe that I lacked continuity and a run of matches in the starting lineup to find better rhythm and score more goals,” Miovski told Flashscore.

“I spent more time on the bench than on the pitch during the second half of the season, but I think that 13 goals overall is still a decent return.”

He did indeed score 13 goals, but four of those came in the Scottish Cup and one in the Scottish League Cup. In the Scottish Premiership alone, Miovski netted just seven times.

That is a dreadful tally for a Rangers attacker, especially when you factor in he also registered only one assist.

For comparison, Mikey Moore (10), Thelo Aasgaard (11), James Tavernier (12), Nicolas Raskin (13) and Youssef Chermiti (20) all contributed to more goals in the league.

While it is true Danny Rohl did not have much faith in Miovski, the North Macedonian did not exactly prove him wrong.

The fact Miovski is happy with his contribution in front of goal is a concern.

What has Miovski now said about his future?

The arrival of Lawrence Shankland at Ibrox already this summer has only pushed Miovski further down the pecking order.

And Miovski was not exactly willing to fully commit himself to Rangers in the same interview.

“You can’t rule out anything [regarding my future], but I’ve got a three-year contract with Rangers and would definitely like to feature more prominently next season rather than sit on the bench,” he said.

“As I said, I’m a competitor and would like to play more.”

This is not to say Miovski cannot play a part for Rangers next season, but it will not be as a regular starter on the basis of this past season.

And if he does stick around, he quite simply needs to improve on a return of seven league goals.
