Ryan Kent sparks Rangers comeback speculation with dramatic Instagram activity

Ryan Kent’s shock Rangers return could genuinely be on after the latest update regarding the winger’s future.

Rangers signed Kent from Liverpool for £7million back in 2019, off the back of an impressive loan spell at Ibrox in which he scored six league goals in 27 appearances.

The 29-year-old remained with the Gers until 2023, scoring 22 Scottish Premiership goals and helping the Glasgow side to their first title in 10 years under Steven Gerrard.

Kent was linked with a return to Rangers 12 months ago, but the Gers ultimately decided against bringing in the exciting winger.

Ryan Kent sends Rangers hint on Instagram

Kent is now a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Seattle Sounders.

The Englishman made the move to Seattle last January and made 16 league appearances for the MLS outfit, grabbing four assists, but his contract was not renewed at the end of the season.

In an intriguing Rangers development, Kent has deleted all the posts on his Instagram apart from five of them, and two of those are from his time at Ibrox.

While it would be nice to see Kent back in a Rangers shirt, it seems unlikely they would make a move for him in January, given his recent lack of game time.

Who are Rangers targeting in the January window?

Despite being unlikely to bring in Kent during the January window, Rangers are expected to make some signings.

Tochi Chukwuani is set to come in from Sturm Graz for a reported £4m, with the midfielder currently waiting on permission to fly to Scotland.

Danny Rohl has been crying out for a number six, so Chukwuani could prove to be an astute addition, and the Dane has already got stuck into Celtic captain Callum McGregor this season.

The 22-year-old already has experience in both the Champions League and Europa League, and should slot in nicely to the Gers midfield.

Elsewhere, Rangers are still tracking Westerlo left-back Tuur Rommens, as they look to strengthen their defensive ranks.

Rohl’s side have reportedly had a bid of around £3m accepted for the Belgian Under-21 international.
