Nasser Djiga loose ends revealed as Rangers eye new transfer
Rangers are interested in wrapping up the loan signing of Wolves defender Nasser Djiga imminently.
Russell Martin is keen on strengthening at centre-back and the Burkina Faso international has been targeted by the manager.
The 22-year-old joined Wolves in the recent January transfer window from Red Star Belgrade, but has found game time at Molineux hard to come by.
Gers have already signed Max Aarons, Emmanuel Fernandez, Joe Rothwell, Thelo Aasgaard and Lyall Cameron this summer.

Nasser Djiga appears set for Ibrox move
According to Give Me Sport (9 July), the loose ends in the deal to bring Djiga to Glasgow have been tied up.
Gers are expected to confirm the signing of the Burkina Faso international on Wednesday itself.
Djiga will be moving to Ibrox on a season-long loan in order to gain first-team experience.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
Red Star | 56 | 4 | 3 |
FC Basel | 22 | 1 | – |
Nîmes Olympique | 21 | – | – |
Wolves | 6 | – | – |
He already completed his medical on Sunday, but the deal wasn’t finalised until then.
This saw him return to train with his Wolves teammates this week, but that is not expected to mean that the loan move is off.

Rangers must now signing Conor Coady after confirming Djiga’s arrival
Conor Coady is a wanted man at Rangers and they must now look to bring in the Leicester City centre-back.
Djiga’s loan signing from Wolves is a promising move for the Ibrox outfit, adding a 22-year-old centre-back with significant potential to Martin’s squad.
He brings Champions League experience from Red Star Belgrade and physicality at 6ft 4in, ideal for the Scottish Premiership’s demands.
This loan, without a buy option, allows Rangers to bolster their defense cost-effectively, with Djiga’s aggressive style suiting Martin’s high-pressing system.
However, they must now pursue Coady to add experience and leadership.
The 32-year-old, with over 400 top-tier appearances and 10 England caps, offers proven Premier League quality and captaincy credentials from Wolves and Leicester.
Coady’s composure and vocal presence would complement Djiga’s youth, ensuring defensive stability for Rangers’ Champions League and title challenges.
