Hamza Igamane ‘under pressure’ at Rangers after what’s happened at Ibrox
Hamza Igamane will be under pressure at Rangers after Cyriel Dessers’ recent performances, John Hartson says.
The former Welsh striker believes the Moroccan youngster will be looking over his shoulder after consistent goals from Dessers recently.
Hartson feels Philippe Clement will be delighted to have two number nines competing and bringing out the best in each other.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (4 February), the 49-year-old said: “It’s come good for [Dessers].
“Igamane now has got a bit of pressure on him.
“The initial pressure was on Dessers, he’s come back, and he’s got the goals. It’s great from Clement’s point of view if you’ve got two strikers hungry to play and in among the goals.”
Hamza Igamane needs to step up at Rangers
Igamane burst onto the scene after the Belgian manager decided to replace the Nigerian striker in the starting line-up due to his poor performances.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the best players at the Light Blues in the last few weeks, and it isn’t a surprise to see top teams being interested in him.
While the Moroccan striker has kept his place in Clement’s plans, his displays of late have been underwhelming, coinciding with Dessers’ resurgence.
Rangers fans will be delighted to see their players bringing out their best and cementing their places.

At the start of the season, the 30-year-old may have taken his inclusion in the team for granted, which could have contributed to him downing tools.
While the Nigerian ace could have arguably left the Glaswegian outfit due to a lack of game time, it makes sense to keep him to maintain squad depth.
Hopefully, Igamane will come out as a better player after this experience.
