Steven Thompson in disbelief at unbelievable Rangers v Ross County moment
Ross County were slammed by Steven Thompson after they conceded their third goal of the game against Rangers on Sunday.
The Gers were awarded a corner which allowed Ianis Hagi to play an inch-perfect cross towards the centre of County’s box which Nico Raskin nodded on for John Souttar to smash home.
Rangers cruised in the second half on 2 February at Ibrox, adding another goal to secure a 4-0 win.
Speaking live on BBC Radio Scotland (15:42 pm), Thompson could not believe what he was watching as the third goal of the game was scored.
“Another really, really poor goal to lose from Ross County’s perspective and it’s Raskin, unbelievably, probably the second smallest player on the pitch, with the initial header,” he said.
“It goes to the back post, it’s going to go past the post, but John Souttar – acting like a striker sniffing the danger – and he’s at the back post to tap the ball high into the net.”
Rangers proved their dominance against Ross County
While the Gers’ Scottish Premiership form has been spotty, to say the least, it feels like they’re finally getting back into the swing of things.
Philippe Clement’s men managed to finish in the top eight of the Europa League which, in itself, is a fairly impressive feat.
However, their achilles heel this season has always been the Scottish Premiership with the Ibrox outfit firmly sitting second in the top-flight table.

While the game on Sunday was only against Ross County, the fact they beat them so easily proves how strong Clement’s men were throughout the game.
The title is still a fever dream due to the massive gap between themselves and first-placed Celtic but if they can keep up this recent run of form throughout the second half of the season, it’s hard to see how they won’t be able to cut that gap down to a more respectable number.
