Zak Lovelace ‘finished at Rangers’ as Millwall-linked ace left out of squad
Rangers have had it rough in the Scottish Premiership this season with the Ibrox outfit firmly sat in second place.
While their form in other competitions such as the Europa League and the Scottish League Cup has been fairly impressive, they’ve more often than not let themselves down in the league.
This is why fans have been calling for Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen to add some new faces to their ranks to bring firepower and stability to their team.
However, along with the players they’ve been linked with, some have been touted with exits such as Zak Lovelace, who could be returning to Millwall [NewsAtDen, 1 February]
The youngster hasn’t been a regular member of Clement’s first-team squad but he seems to be a player that many have plenty of hope for.
So, now that he’s been left out of the Gers’ matchday squad for their clash against Ross County on 2 February [X], it seems that he could be finished at Rangers.
Why Rangers shouldn’t let Zak Lovelace leave for Millwall
Lovelace might not have set the world alight in the four games he’s played for the Gers’ senior team this season, but it’s evident that he has an abundance of talent ready to be used.
When played this term, he’s been used on the right wing and his pace was one of his standout attributes.
And, the fact that a permanent transfer for Vaclav Cerny in the summer could cost over £6million [Scottish Sun, 1 February, page 69], means that it’s highly unlikely that the Ibrox outfit will be able to bring the Czechia international to Glasgow permanently.

So, that means somebody else is going to have to fill that gap and while Ross McCausland is a decent backup, it feels like Lovelace could have a much higher ceiling than the Northern Ireland international
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen with Lovelace but the fact Clement has omitted him from his squad on Sunday, likely means he’s headed for the exit door before the 3 February deadline.
