Amorim to unleash Amad Diallo in six changes – Man Utd predicted XI v Rangers
Rangers face Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday and Ruben Amorim could make six changes to his starting 11.
Given the current 13-point gap from Celtic in the league, the Europa League is one of two real remaining chances of silverware for the Light Blues, albeit any success will be hard to come by given the level of quality in the competition.
United will play host to Rangers on 23 January and the Red Devils could potentially change more than half of their team from their 3-1 defeat to Brighton as they look to get back to winning ways.
One familiar face in Amad Diallo is expected to retain his place in the United XI, having been at the forefront of any attempts to revive their season.
Amad Diallo set for Rangers reunion
Altay Bayindir could start between the sticks for Manchester United, with Andre Onana evidently the preferred choice for league competition.
Amorim has shown his desire to progress in the competition with little rotation, so a back three of Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Light and Noussair Mazraoui could be utilised at Old Trafford.
Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia could be the go-to partnership for the wing-back roles, with two changes expected in midfield.
Casemiro could come in to replace Kobbie Mainoo, while Manuel Ugarte could face the axe in favour of Bruno Fernandes in a deeper role.

Amad, having been one of, if not the, most important players under Amorim this season, could play on the right side of the front three with Alejandro Garnacho on the opposite flank.
Very few Rangers fans will have expected Amad to succeed as much as he has of late given the poor spell he endured when on loan at Ibrox.
When it comes to strikers, United have certainly had their own concerns with Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund both failing to showcase any kind of consistency in their game, but the latter may get the nod on Thursday.
While the Red Devils are enduing a horrid season and have even been tipped for a relegation battle, Rangers will still need to be at their best if they are to walk away from Old Trafford with anything other than a defeat.
In other Rangers news, Cyriel Dessers’ exit is “pretty much sealed” at Ibrox.
