Clinton Nsiala update emerges ahead of Rangers v Hearts clash
Rangers summer signing Clinton Nsiala is unlikely to start against Hearts at Tynecastle on 3 August, according to Chris Jack.
The Rangers Review journalist stated on 2 August that if Robin Propper does start, it’s between John Souttar and Ben Davies to partner him.
Gers secured the permanent signing of Nsiala from AC Milan, but he is not expected to make his full debut right away.
Jack said at 4:42: “I’d be very surprised if he starts at Tynecastle. So for me, it’s between Souttar and Davies. I think Balogun is going to be more of a squad option.”
Rangers must not rush Clinton Nsiala v Hearts
The decision to not start Nsiala and give him minutes off the bench against Hearts on Saturday makes sense as he’s a young player who has recently joined the club from AC Milan and he may need time to adapt to the Scottish game’s style and pace.
Giving him a gradual introduction to the team will help him settle in more smoothly.
Starting Nsiala against Hearts, a challenging away fixture, could put unnecessary pressure on the young player.
Instead, using him as a substitute allows the coaching staff to assess his performance in a less demanding situation.
Bringing Nsiala off the bench allows him to gain valuable experience in a competitive match without the full weight of starting the game.
This approach will help build his confidence and allow him to learn from his more experienced teammates while on the pitch.
In other Rangers news, the club’s board may now push to sign a striker that Philippe Clement does not admire.
