Rangers: Ianis Hagi sends one-word reply to Steven Davis after what happened
Rangers loanee Ianis Hagi has reacted to Steven Davis’ Instagram post after the former Gers midfielder returned to Ibrox on Saturday 2 March.
Philippe Clement’s side were defeated 2-1 by Motherwell amid a very tight Scottish Premiership title race, as Davis returned to Ibrox after announcing his retirement from football in January.
The 39-year-old was presented with an award on the pitch ahead of the clash, with his son also walking out as the team’s mascot, holding hands with James Tavernier.
Responding to Davis’ Instagram post on Sunday (3 March), Hagi simply replied: “Legend,” with a blue heart.

Davis will definitely be considered a legend by the Rangers faithful, with the midfielder making 361 total appearances over his different spells in Glasgow. One of his last roles at Ibrox was as caretaker manager after Michael Beale was sacked in September.
Despite being on loan away from Ibrox since the beginning of the season, joining Deportivo Alaves, it appears that Hagi’s love and respect for Rangers is still alive.
The Romanian was sent out on loan during Beale’s reign at Ibrox, with midfielders Kieran Dowell and Jose Cifuentes, and forwards Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima all brought into the club during last summer’s transfer window.
It was clear that, even with his capabilities to play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, Hagi was not needed in Scotland and was sent away for the season.

Though there was never any chance of the 25-year-old to return from his loan spell during the January transfer window, Clement certainly could have used Hagi after multiple players suffered long-term injuries.
Hagi is very much a player who could thrive under Clement for Rangers, and will likely play a part at Ibrox upon his return at the end of the season.
