Door now open for Kevin Nisbet transfer as Rangers told to seal deal in January

The door is now open for Rangers to make a late January transfer move for Hibernian forward Kevin Nisbet after his proposed move to Millwall has fallen through, according to journalist Richard Cawley.

Pundit Tam McManus shared that he was bombarded with questions about Nisbet from Rangers fans, asking why the Light Blues haven’t made a move for him.

Former Rangers star and fellow pundit Barry Ferguson backed up these questions, stating that he believes the Gers should make a move for Nisbet this month, something which could well happen after Cawley’s revelation.

“Kevin Nisbet’s move to Millwall is off,” said Cawley on Twitter (27 January, 1:47 PM)

“The Lions had agreed terms of the deal to bring the striker in but he has decided against the switch at this time.”

Surely making a late move for the Scottish Premiership star is a no-brainer now after this?

Red-hot form.

Nisbet is in red-hot form for Hibernian at Easter Road right now and signing a striker who is comfortable with playing in the Scottish Premiership would be a savvy move.

Antonio Colak’s injury problems have plagued Rangers slightly this season and bringing in some reinforcements up top wouldn’t go amiss.

Pair this with Kemar Roofe’s constant injury issues and Alfredo Morelos’ hot and cold performances you’d think Michael Beale would be looking at someone like Nisbet.

Critics will look at Nisbet’s performances last season as an area of concern but his frightening form this campaign seems to suggest he’s ready for a big move.

Is Nisbet even that much of a risk for Rangers? He wouldn’t cost much and would almost definitely bolster Beale’s options up top if anything.

Keeping bright homegrown talents in Scotland should be the view of Rangers in the coming years and Nisbet fits right into this Bracket.
