Bayern Munich hold buy back option for Malik Tillman as Rangers 'conditions' emerge
Bayern Munich hold a buy-back option for Malik Tillman if Rangers opt to make his loan move from the Allianz Arena permanent, according to The Athletic.
It’s understood Rangers want to secure the 20-year-old on a permanent agreement once his loan deal expires in the summer (The Athletic, 25 January).
However, it’s believed there are “conditions” which need to be considered when it comes to the American’s potential move to Ibrox.
“Rangers want to secure the USMNT international on a permanent deal once his loan from Bayern Munich expires in the summer, but there will be conditions in the agreement to be considered,” wrote The Athletic.
“While there is the option of a buy clause for Rangers in this loan deal, there is also a buyback option for Bayern should the move be made permanent.”
Make it happen
All Rangers fans will be desperate for the club to make Tillman’s loan move permanent when it does come to a close in the summer. He’s a player who makes things happen in an attacking sense and isn’t just a winger who will look to utilise his pace all the time.
His game awareness and ability to think fast in tight spaces allow him to create numerous goalscoring chances for the Gers. Furthermore, he’s still only 20 and is likely to improve in the coming years. It will be a significant investment for the board to make, but there’s a chance Tillman would go on to be one the club’s biggest assets.
However, it’s clear Bayern Munich also rate the attacking midfielder and the board must ensure they’re shrewd negotiators in the summer when his deal does come to a close. A buy-back option could leave the Gers in a precarious position if the young American does go on to be a huge success in the coming years.
In other Rangers news, the Gers want to offer a four-and-a-half-year contract to seal the signing of this European ace.
