Rangers blow pundit away with Nicolas Raskin deal as medical completed in London for Belgian ace
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Nicolas Raskin is a “great signing” for Rangers, according to Tam McManus, as the Standard Liege midfielder closes in on a move to Ibrox.
Belgian newspaper Le Soir reported on 24 January that Raskin, 21, has already undergone a medical in London ahead of moving to Ibrox.
It was reported that a fee still needed to be agreed between Rangers and Standard Liege. However, The 4th Official added on 25 January that an agreement on a deal worth between “between £900k and £2.2m” has now been reached.

Rangers’ midfield options are ageing or have been fraught with form and injury issues this season.
McManus believes that Belgian ace Raskin would perfectly spruce up Michael Beale’s central options.
Speaking to Ibrox News, McManus said: “The midfield is the one area that Rangers had to strengthen.
“They’ve got a couple of older players in there in Steven Davis and Scott Arfield, who are at the tail-end of their careers.
“Ryan Jack’s not signed a new deal either.

“I think they need to sign two central midfield players. They’ve got Todd Cantwell and I think Raskin’s going to come in as well.
“It’s definitely an area they had to strengthen.
“Raskin has the best years of his career ahead of him so he’ll be a great signing.”
In other Rangers news, a club in Europe holds the option to re-sign a player from Ibrox whenever they like.
